The follow-up is always a difficult one. Not least for Gnarls Barkley whose first album contains one of this millennium's most beloved hits, the unforgettable "Crazy". But the brand-new The Odd Couple is one of today's hottest and most discussed albums, and it has forever silenced all talk of one hit wonders. What the critics said about Gnarls Barkley's The Odd Couple:
"Soul music hasn't sounded this fresh and downright freaky for a quarter of a century." - NME
"The result is a milestone in modern psychedelic soul." - Uncut "The Odd Couple is an emotionally and musically provocative album. Despite its weighty subject matter, it's also one hell of a fun listen." - Popmatters Swedish electro-pop and Eastern European madness. As if Gnarls Barkley was not an ample party delivery, we announce two extra names for those appreciating electronic pulses and dancing.
FAMILJEN (S) is famous for the hit "Det snurrar i min skalle". The wonderful electro-pop track has made the Swede's shows sell out fast everywhere. The popular act draws on names such as Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and Kings of Convenience.
MISS PLATNUM (DE) is ready to take on the West with her mix of hip hop, reggae/dancehall and Balkan-inspired pop. She is originally from Romania, and like the film character Borat she displays Western prejudices against Eastern Europe in a way that both makes you laugh out loud and gives you food for thought.
About 130 new names coming up 16 April is just around the corner - the day when we announce the entire music programme so far. We are looking forward to announcing about 130 new and exciting acts!
