Four new acts on this year's programme
Bullet for My Valentine, Solomon Burke, CocoRosie and Lupe Fiasco join this year's line-up.
Roskilde Festival has not rested on its laurels since the big programme announcement in mid-April. Therefore, we can now add four strong names to an already impressive programme. This week's names cover metal, soul, indie and hip hop.
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE (UK) plays heavy metal in the vein of Iron Maiden and Metallica. However, the four Welshmen can also deliver pop and melodic tear-jerkers, which has given them a following among fans of recent emo rock.
SOLOMON BURKE (US) is a true legend in soul and R&B. Many calls him one of the inventors of soul music. The big man has performed his haunted ballads since the early 60s.
COCOROSIE (US) play a trendsetting mix of folk, hip hop and Billie Holiday. The unique expression has led the two sisters into the same slant major league as Devendra Banhart and Animal Collective.
LUPE FIASCO (US) is the next big thing on Chicago's hip hop scene which has previously given us Kanye West. His latest album, The Cool, delivers worldly-wise hip hop lyrics with appetizing soul-pop.
